About Tlc
With 14 classrooms and over 500 students each week, we know exactly what teaching EFL is all about.Tlc is a registered examination centre for Trinity College London ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and the Trinity Integrated skills examinations, and a Licensed Centre for the EDI (Education Development International) offering all language based London Chamber of Commerce and Industry examinations for business and tourism. Tlc is a fully accredited Teacher Training Unit offering internationally recognised qualifications in TESOL.
Our teacher training programme offers you the best of both worlds:
- A stand alone distance training programme with the opportunity to do some teaching practice through the ACTDEC "TP Portfolio Scheme" (see Tlc links)
- A Tlc Hybrid course - part distance and part on site (real "hands on" practical study) in Tlc Centre, as part of our study vacation programme - an intensive presence taught component that includes class observations, lesson planning, face to face input, feedback on assessed (and unnassed) Teaching Practices and the opporttunity to work in all areas. We offer three 1 to 1 options at each level. Option 1 is completely free to all Tlc trainees.
There is no upper limit for unassessed teaching practice as we run our normal classes every day and trainees are more than welcome to get as much "hands on" practice as you want by team teaching with one of the Tlc Centre teachers - and whats more, the unassessed TPs and observations are completey Free - so well worth taking advantage of.
Both programmes are acccredited by ACTDEC - The Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses.
